THE BRINK OF HUMAN DISASTER:
The Doorway to the Most Holy Place
Ps. 110 The Lord said to my Lord, " Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet." The Lord will stretch forth Thy strong scepter from Zion saying, "Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies." Thy people will be willing in the day of Thy power. In holy array from the womb of the dawn, Thy youth will as the dew. For the Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, "Thou art a King forever, after the order of Melchizedek."
Every one wants to be on the cutting edge. It sounds so exciting. There
is nothing more intriguing than to be in the center of His
will and purposes. And that is how it should be. However, few people realize what it actually means to be on that edge of God's activity.
Others may call it the cutting edge, but I call it the Brink Of Human Disaster. For the place of His activity is just one step beyond what we can ever do in ourselves. It is one step beyond what we can complete in our own strength, our own wisdom. This point is the brink of failure where either God intervenes or disaster happens.
It is the point where the immature matures, the rebellious submits, the noisy grows quiet and the joy of the Lord runs deep within, regardless of outward circumstances. It is where we find peace in the midst of turmoil, where the Voice of the Lord is more believable than the voice of the destroyer, and the hope of deliverance is the guiding passion of our soul.
The thrill of the Second Day "glitz" is giving way to the solemn responsibility of carrying the Glory of God into the Third Dimension of Grace, the Most Holy Place. Here the "glitz" does not shine and here the fanfare does not motivate. For within the Veil, all that matters is Him and doing His will. In this dimension, the clatter of Second Day mixture is engulfed by the passion to see His purposes fulfilled in the earth no matter what the cost to you. For here is the sobering reminder that only with great tribulation do we enter the Kingdom of God. There is no mindless rhetoric, no blind following, and certainly no misunderstanding as to the cost involved in volunteering freely in the Day of His power.
The carnal prayer of the immature is like the mother of the two disciples
when she asked, "Lord, grant that when you come into
your kingdom, my two sons may be with thee, one at thy right hand and one at thy left." To which Jesus responded with a startling reminder that an eternal and everlasting covenant was being wrought here, real sacrifice would be made and real blood would be shed. The true disciple does not revel in his position, neither does he find pleasure at the precipice of failure. But his passion to be obedient to Him who has washed him, moves him beyond the human safety zone and into the realm of all-God where He moves freely through the lives of those yielded to Him at any cost.
Here Lordship takes on new meaning. For here, your Lord does His work
within you, in spite of your doctrine, in spite of your
traditions, in spite of your past, in spite of your fears. Here, you will learn that He has your best interest at heart, regardless of what the five senses try to tell you. Here, you discover the power of steady assurance and the peace of a mind fixed on Jesus. Here you will have to decide to believe Him and die to those things that hinder you, or to run and carry your destructive baggage with you the rest of your life.
This is truly the cutting edge from God's perspective. Zeal cannot sustain
you there. Ambition cannot get you there. Human
cunning cannot buy your way there.
It is not for the flamboyant nor for the proud. For he who arrogantly and confidently announces he is on the cutting edge of God's purposes confesses his meager understanding of God's ways. He recklessly begs a cheap entrance into a realm of existence reserved for those who have abandoned themselves to His service without recognition or title of honor. It is reserved for those who are dying; dying with absolute confidence if not with absolute enthusiasm.
They know their greatest fulfillment is on the other side of the Jordan,
their humanity, even if, for now, they must undergo great
hardship in the dying process. Those on the edge of human disaster need neither a place of prominence nor the confirmation and stroking of religious politicians whose agendas are anti-Christ and who could not recognize the flow of His purposes in the earth under any circumstances.
He is looking for people who will not be afraid to go where He leads
and who trust Him enough to live on the brink of human
disaster to see His Will wrought in a particular situation.
Folks who are waiting around for God to do something for them or in them or to them must become spiritually minded so they can see that God is always moving.
It is up to us to respond to the moving of God to be a part of His Plan for this generation. Those waiting for God to move do not understand the passion with which God wants to sweep across the earth with His glory and power, flooding the nations with His love and wisdom. If only we would be willing to break through time and space and peer into the eternity of God, we would be motivated beyond our capacity to comprehend His vastness. We would recognize our procrastination for what it really is: our unwillingness to pay the price to follow Him; our unwillingness to flee the rebellion and the sin of our youth and take responsibility for the sin that so easily besets us; to run from it knowing that it robs us of the communion we so desperately desire.
We have become so used to finding excuses for why things do not happen
as they should that we end up blaming God. We
develop subtle doctrines that excuse the silence of the heavens or excuse our lack of understanding of Him. To study the
scriptures purely and courageously would reveal a deep lack of our personal heavenly alignment to His ways. This alone would
bring us immediately to the brink of human disaster, the Veil of the Most Holy Place, for our only hope is to allow Him to totally
overhaul everything we believe. We must be willing for Him to "mess us up"!!
It would require an immediate abandonment of our current modes of operation and cause us to confess that we really do not know how to build God's House. To this He would quickly reply that that is not our job anyway. For Jesus said, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Who is among us so broken that we are willing to seriously admit to ourselves and to God that just maybe we do not have all the answers? Who is willing to admit that he may not have built according to God's will and just maybe some adjustment is necessary? If this sounds like you, then you are among the growing numbers of men and women all over the world that are more interested in being found in Him than in preserving their own way of believing.
Ps. 25:14 "The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He
will show them His covenant." The edge is not a
place we are forced to live, but it is for those who volunteer freely. Jesus was not forced to die. He gave His life
James 3:3 "Do not be as the horse or a mule, who need to be lead about by a bit and bridle."
Ps. 31:19 "O how great is thy goodness which thou hast stored
up for those who fear thee, which thou hast wrought
for those who take refuge in thee before the sons of men."
The wind, the water, the sound of His voice; whatever we choose to call His Spirit in allegorical fashion, is drawing us into Him. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. In Him is our protection and salvation, for He is our High Tower in the midst of great adversity. We must release from ourselves the places we hide that are not God's, and have no power to save nor to restore. Who is there among us who can look directly into brokenness and heartache still declaring that the Lord is good and His mercy is everlasting? Who among us will determine to believe the Lover of our soul before we will believe the destroyer of our destiny, Satan himself?
This place within the veil, on the brink of Human disaster, but also on the brink of His Glory, will not be faked and cannot be intellectualized. It is a place of utter abandonment and confidence in our Lord Jesus, Who is for you and not against you, forgives you and does not reject you. For He is not as a man fickle in his dealings and self-serving in his friendships. For when your Lord says, "Thou art a priest forever", He does not change His mind nor give you a 90 days trial period. You are His. It is set in the heavens and more importantly, you are set in His Heart.
Ps. 40 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, and
heard my cry.

4 How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who
lapse into falsehood.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which Thou hast done, And Thy thoughts toward us; There is none to
compare with Thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.
6 Sacrifice and meal offering Thou hast not desired; My ears Thou hast opened; Burnt offering and sin offering Thou
